About BSMachining
BSMachining is the in-house machine shop of Benthic Spectral Inc., a women-owned small business in Plainwell, Michigan. The shop designs and makes the hardware for Benthic Spectral's own underwater imaging and AUV/ROV systems. It also takes machining and contract manufacturing work from outside customers and prime contractors.
BSMachining was formerly Busch Machine Tool Supply. The shop ran for more than 20 years in Freeland, Michigan, doing commercial contract machining, repair, and custom parts. In 2025 it moved to Benthic Spectral's facility at 734 Jersey Street in Plainwell.
The shop is located at Benthic Spectral's ~10,000 sq ft facility at 734 Jersey Street in Plainwell, on 4 acres. We are refurbishing the building from prior industrial use into a modern CNC and waterjet production environment.

How we work
We take bounded roles and team with primes, so you get the capacity you need without overcommitment.
We say what we can make and what we can't, and we quote to that.
We work to your print, your inspection requirements, and your forms.
